# MCP

> Call email validation from an MCP client.

Agents call `https://mcp.routr.to/mcp`. `https://api.routr.to/mcp` is the same API. It does not use a different price. The cost of `email_validate` is the cost of `POST /v1/email/validate`.

The transport is streamable HTTP with no session.

```json theme={null}
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "routr": {
      "url": "https://mcp.routr.to/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer rtr_test_your_key"
      }
    }
  }
}
```

Send `Authorization: Bearer` with the same API key. The tool is `email_validate`.

| Argument | Required | Meaning |
| - | - | - |
| `email` | yes | Address to check. `jane@example.com` is an example. |
| `mode` | no | `smart`, `cheapest`, or `pinned`. Default `smart`. |
| `integrations` | no | Integration IDs. Required when `mode` is `pinned`. |
| `fallback` | no | When pinned, continue with the other vendors in smart order. Default false. |
| `max_credits` | no | Stop before a step that would exceed this many credits. |
| `timeout_ms` | no | How long each vendor may take, in milliseconds. Omit it to use each vendor's own timeout. Example: `3000`. |
| `idempotency_key` | no | Replay this key within 24 hours and get the first response again. |

A success result is the HTTP response body. An error result is the HTTP error body, with `error.code`, `error.message`, and `error.retryable`. The MCP result has no HTTP status and no `Retry-After`. `retryable: true` means wait and retry.
